Reality : It actually happened on Easter Island.

Dystopia : Babies are grown in jars and intelligence is decided before birth.
Reality : In some clinics, the baby's gender is chosen by the parents.

Dystopia : Humans are trapped in a computer simulation.
Reality : The Big Bang has already been reproduced in scientific simulations.
08. BLADE RUNNER
Dystopia : Earth is invaded by violent artificial humans ("replicants")
Reality : Robots are now so sophisticated that they can act and even learn like human beings.
09 : A CLOCKWORK ORANGE
Dystopia : Mind altering treatment (brainwashing) is used on violent teenagers.
Reality : That treatment is actually used in Russia.
10. CHILDREN OF MEN
Dystopia : Humanity is about to disappear because no babies are conceived anymore.
Reality : Fertility is declining.
